THE HIPPOCRATIC OATH
The patient-centric care model was already present in the Hippocratic Oath. Despite different translations and interpretations, the essence is the same and reinforces the practice of medicine for the benefit of the patient, their physical and emotional care, always guided by ethical principles. Currently, it implies competence, integrity, patient’s informed consent, commitment to the best clinical practice, compassion and confidentiality.
